When do you pay Yoohoo? Only when your au pair gets paid. Each week they receive their pocket money, we add a small 10% service fee on top ($30 on a typical $300 week). Nothing else. No upfront fee, no surprises, not a cent more, ever. If they don’t arrive, anything held comes straight back.

Is it free?
Yes. 100% free to join, browse, match, chat and interview. The only thing you ever pay is a 10% service fee while your au pair is actually living with you, about $30 on a typical week. Au pairs never pay, ever.
What does it cost?
Nothing, until your au pair is living with you. From then it's just 10% on top of pocket money: about $30 on a typical $300 week, $330 in total. Nothing upfront, nothing to subscribe to.
When is my card actually charged?
Only if your au pair accepts your offer. A hold is placed when you send it, and if they decline, counter, or the offer runs out, the hold disappears and you're charged nothing at all.
How is our money protected?

How do I know they're safe around my kids?
They're checked three ways before you ever meet: government ID verified, a Working with Children Check tracked through to clearance rather than taking anyone's word for it, and visa eligibility confirmed. Then you meet on video calls inside the app before anything is agreed.
What if it doesn't work out?
You're covered both ways. Before arrival: the week comes straight back and the fee carries over to your next au pair, so you never pay it twice. Later: notice and amounts are already written on your agreement, and we put verified au pairs who are available now straight in front of you.
What does an au pair actually do?
Around 25 to 30 hours a week of help with your kids: school runs, meals, homework, play, agreed up front in writing. In return they get their own room, meals, and weekly pocket money. It's a cultural exchange, and the best ones feel like family within weeks.
